Victor has been my personal trainer since 2007. I train 3 times a week with Victor and on my own an additional 2 times making it a total of 5 times a week. My main reason to train, besides wanting to look "hot" for my age :) - I have inherited high cholesterol in my family history. Since I am allergic to statins, exercise is my only saving grace. My cholesterol used to be 290 now it is less then 180 with just diet and exercise - no medication! Also in order to play the huge Cathedral Pipe Organ, I must maintain a fit body since mastering the instrument requires support only from my glutes and abs - my feet play the pedals on the organ while my hands jump from one of the four keyboards to the other at the same time. A strong core is vital to play the instrument. Along with the physical training, Victor monitored my diet, and now my bible is Bill Philips' "Eating for Life" recipes that lead toward success!
Now I am all muscle - and NO I'm not SKINNY!!! or ILL - I'm very FIT, extremely healthy with only 11% fat on my body thanks to Master Trainer Vic! My best health and fitness advice --- INVEST in a VFIT personal trainer! It was the best decision i made in my life. I have paid less visits to the doctor and chiropractor and spent less money on medical prescriptions. I used to exercise on my own at the YMCA and CC Athletic Club - what a waste - having a personal trainer has become my way, my truth of the reality of taking care of God's temple - my body- and now my life! Best benefit of all - feeling YOUNG, FIT and ENERGIZED! And there are other benefits I dare not mention - do not want to tarnish my angelic reputation. :)

I moved to Corpus just before the COVID lock down, and I quickly gained 10 pounds. I haven’t been an extreme fitness freak in my lifetime, but I have managed to stay in pretty good shape the majority of my adult life. I worked out with trainers in the past and normally engaged in group exercise classes. I do much better when I’m held accountable or have someone waiting on me to show up. Needless to say, I wasn’t able to find a trainer or land with a new exercise group when I first moved here because of the pandemic. I was starting to really panic, because the pounds were increasing and frankly I was getting lazy. I felt trapped! When gyms starting opening back up, I began researching trainers in the area and found Victor. Halleluiah!
Victor is the absolute best. He is extremely knowledgeable and tailors the work out program to the individual. He asks the right questions and is very observant. He knows when to up the challenge and when to back off a little. He is motivating without being abusive or cruel. He really masters positive encouragement and feedback in every way. His advice is practical, and he doesn’t advocate unrealistic goals. He makes the most out of every minute I am in his gym. I’m making really good progress on getting back in shape, and I really owe it all to Victor. I couldn’t have done it without him!

I started training with Victor about five years ago. I had consistently been working out prior, but noticed a plateau in my stamina and muscle tone for about a year. After about a month of working with Victor I noticed significant changes to my body. I had more muscle tone than ever before and my stamina had increase drastically.
My life has dramatically changed since then and I am now a mother of two. I did not work out during my first pregnancy and gained 52 pounds, had sciatica, preeclampsia and a hard delivery. I went back to Victor three months post-partum and I had my pre pregnancy body back two months later thanks to him. Through my second pregnancy I continued to train with Victor, this time I only gained 18 pounds, had no complications and an easy delivery. I had my body back three months post-partum and looked better at four months post-partum then I did pre pregnancy.
Victor’s workouts are unique to the individual. He truly understands how to challenge and push you in a specific way that you will respond to. Furthermore, he believes in leading a positive life, can’t is not a word you will hear him use or a word he will let you use during your workout. He believes in an all-around healthy life style and will help you achieve your fitness and nutritional goals. I have tried many different gyms and several different trainers and I always end up back with Victor. I am here to stay!

At a very young age, I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, and the doctors said that I would not be able to walk for the rest of my life. With the help of physical therapy, I was able to walk. For 12 years of my life I went to physical therapy, to stretch and loosen up my muscles. There came a point in my physical therapy. Were physical therapy was not going to be beneficial to my Cerebral Palsy. So the Physical Therapist advised me to just stay active. Besides having Cerebral Palsy I also suffer from hypertension. Still, I have been pretty active all of my life. My love is umpiring fast pitch softball, and for years I was working out, using my own work-out plan for cardio and strength training – that is, until I began using Gabriel Lucido as my personal trainer.
Being a fast pitch softball umpire demands me to do a lot of running and since the peak of softball season is in the summer months. I have to be in tip top shape to do a good job. When I started training with Gabriel I could not run a mile. Gabriel started me out running suicides with weights in between sets. For a couple of weeks he had me doing the same exercises. Then one day Gabriel was waiting for me outside in the parking lot. I asked him, “what’s going on,” and his response was “we are going for a run.” Thinking to myself I have not run 100 yards in my training. We took off running five to ten minutes into the run I was feeling pretty good. When we got back to the gym about 40 minutes later, I did not realize that we had run three miles. I felt so proud of myself, and the respect for my trainer went through the roof. My progress continued through Gabriel, and a couple weeks later I entered a 5K race and won my age group.
As for my love, umpiring softball, I went from doing one game and rest to doing two to three games in a row, and feeling great! A couple of week ago I went in for a checkup, and my doctor lowered my dosage of my hypertension medication. My main reason for joining V-Fit was to improve my stamina and health and that goal was accomplish. Now that I have been training with Gabriel for more than four years, I have become faster and stronger, and my confident level is at an all time high thanks to Gabriel and his V-Fit training.

Gabriel Lucido has been my personal trainer since 2010. He is professional, knowledgeable, and dedicated to the people he trains. When I started working with Gabe, I led a moderately active lifestyle and had gained 15 pounds. After the first few sessions, I discovered being active was not the same as being fit. Now, after almost 5 years of Gabe’s expert and patient guidance, I am fit, active and can hold my own with much younger people.
Gabe trains me for an hour or more 4 to 5 mornings a week depending on my work schedule. The training program is based on my specific fitness level and is both challenging and fun. When my job takes me out of town, Gabe “meets” me for training by phone. Even though he sometimes has to improvise on the spot to accommodate the equipment available, the phone training sessions are as structured and challenging as if we were meeting in person.
The extra bonus of training with Gabe is that he shares his passion for and knowledge of distance running. Our sessions include strength training, hill running, speed drills, distance running and fun. I was a casual runner for years with what I thought was a respectable pace. With Gabe’s training, I have left that respectable pace in the dust and run much stronger and faster.
Training with Gabriel Lucido definitely changed my life for the better.

Starting in November, 2012, I commenced my workouts with Gabriel Lucido. They were first conducted in a workout room in a local condo. Being a 78 year old man, he was very much in tune with my abilities and needs. With each workout I became stronger and more agile. Gabriel understood the type of exercises that I needed and gradually got me into more types of exercises and weights.
However, in May, 2013, I fell and broke my right femur. I was in rehab for several weeks and when returning to my workout schedule it was at my home, instead of a workout room with all of its equipment. Gabriel handled the transition well and guided me through new exercises which addressed my strengthening needs for a post injury situation. He is even-tempered and gently encourages me to increase my reps and weights, and always gives me continued verbal support.
I can wholeheartedly recommend that Gabriel is the perfect person for those who are either returning to an exercise routine or beginning a new one, as he is not a screaming martinet demanding that you perform exercises beyond your abilities. You will find Gabriel to be the Personal Trainer you have always wanted.

Working with Gabe and V Fit Training Center has been a FABULOUS experience and I would recommend to anyone that needs that special help or has had some difficultly achieving their goal to contact Gabe, he is not only caring and compassionate, he truly understands what you need to obtain your goal and will work with you until you achieve your goal….he is truly an AWESOME trainer. I have not only lost inches and weight, I have gained a great relationship with Gabe, my trainer, and my workout group which has made me feel like there are people that actually care about me and my wellbeing. In the past, I had tried numerous other things, without any long term results until I was introduced to Gabriel, by my wonderful friend Mary. Gabe retrained me to focus on inches and not weight, eating healthier and having a consistent workout
schedule. In the 10 months I have been working with Gabe, I reduced the amount of medicine I was on, built up muscle and stamina and have completed two 5k walks. What an AWSOME feeling to know you CAN do it, regardless of your age, how much you have to loss or what condition(s) you have, you just have to KEEP FIT and achieve 1 VICTORY AT A TIME…..Thanks Gabe for all you have done to
help me achieve my goals….you are FABULOUS.

I'm 72 tears old with multiple surgeries, including a hip transplant, and I have a personal trainer, Victor Betancourt. It's true that as you get older you lose muscle mass but you can reverse it by weight training. Cardio alone won't do it. I have 3 criteria for a trainer, experience, form and motivation.
Victor excels in all 3. He came up with a plan to help me meet my fitness goals and watches my form for correctness, which is vital for someone my age. His greatest attribute is the ability to motivate his clients, especially when they're in the "dumps" and want to quit. I'm at 12% body fat and getting stronger every week. We work on legs, especially, since I'm an avid bicyclist, riding 120 miles per week, and am able to keep up with the guys in their 20's. Plus his clients are in it for the long run, many have been with him for years.
Too many trainers are young kids who only stick around in a gym for a short time so you're left with having to find a new trainer. I can highly recommend Victor for professionalism, experience, and strong motivation techniques. whether you're a powerlifter, average person who wants to get "fit", or a senior citizen
